MAY 2010

The new Plastered CD is finally finished after years of procrastination. It's called "RIP" and contains 4 instrumentals and one vocal track ( Michel Gambini, vocalist from Retturn. and Seita. vomits his lungs out of his throat).

It was recorded at the now non existent "Tapeless Studio" in Amsterdam, further recordings and mixing done at my own "Studio 5". Let the record label search commence! Here's a SNIPPET to whet the appetite.

Blisters. have reformed! So far we have played a couple of gigs and have somehow managed to record a CD's worth of material at "Solid Ground Audio". It's like we've never been apart. The chemistry is still boiling it's way through skin, steel and wood. I'll be mixing it at my place.

There's a couple of movie clips on youtube from da gig in Volta a couple of months ago...

And here's some photos from the recording session.

Quite a few friends dropped by to get drunk and embarass themselves.

Back Stabbath played at a DNK evening held at OCCI., Amsterdam. Our mainman Leon was unfortunately in London at the time so Igor Beans came off the substitute bench and with a no input mixer managed to dribble all over the table.

OCTOBER 08

The small tour of Germany went more or less according to ze plan.

Most interesting venue must have been the FFUS wagon in Stuttgart. This was an old train coach that we literally shook with noise so it felt like it was back on the train tracks and running out of control with drunk driver and no brakes!

The gig at Silke Arp-Bricht , Hannover was filmed... still waiting for a copy. It was great to play opposite the reptilian splendour of Evil Moisture. Fuckin' Bastards also played. They were, like always.... absolute fucking bastards.

There were a couple of loudness complaints from neighbours to Salon Bruit in Berlin. This was during our special "quiet" set that we had rehearsed in order to fit in with the strict loudness policy that they have to apply. Oh well.... we really did try to keep it down, guys!

The best gig we played was in Wallywood Gallery , Berlin. This was swiftly followed by a TERRIBLE gig in Namur, Belgium. My electronics refused to function and it left Boban and Leon to slowly drown in confusion.. Ouch!

While in Berlin we recorded some tracks at Headcleaner studio by my pal Basti. There appears to be an album's worth of truly hideous torture in the can.

JANUARY 08

Last year was taken up mostly with producing records for other people. This left little time for my own projects.

However, we did manage some gigs:including a couple in Rotterdam (WORM). After the first time we played there, Lukas Simonis (show programmer) felt inspired enough to plan a festival "Feedback as science versus feedback as religion".. we were in there representing religion.

Did a show for the Auxxx night in Amsterdam (301).

Also played on the culture ship Stubnitz. The great thing about playing there (apart from the fantastic location.... staged in the old hold where the fish used to be frozen..and the friendly crew) is that they film the show with multiple cameras, mix it live and present you with a DVD when you've finished.

So...Ladies and Gentlemen..prepare yourselves for 3 clips from Stubnitz.

Take this ...

Want more? Then take this ...

Had enough? Well..take this ...

FEBRUARY 07

Just back from a small but intense tour of Catalunya. I went first with my friend Jaap Pieters and he screened some of his silent super 8 films while i made soundtracks on a Sherman filterbank (output connected to input).

We played a few times like this then, some days later, 2 noise assassins flew in from Amsterdam
(Babun san and Cobra san) to help with another couple of gigs promoting the solo CD.

We will never forget the first concert in Barcelona with a front row public that started crawling around on the floor on top of each other during our performance. It sure felt like the right response at the time!

Main organizer for all this was Sam Roig from L'ull Sec. He is making miracles happen over there with his relentless programming of experimental artists. He is THE MAN!!

Big help also came from Kike (check out his band C_utter) and David from Cal Cabrit.

The Manresa based band DNSR TRN really blew us away with their energy and purity of sound.

Big bear hugs to: Sam, Sabina, Kike, Dimoni, Arnau, Pau, Dani Venezuela, David, Marga, Juan Palau and the guy who said he was offended with our show and that i smelt bad!

AUGUST 06

Harakiri sisters were invited to play at the Exit Music Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia.

It turned out to be a fantastic experience for us...it's a 4 day long festival held on the grounds of a huge medieval castle. There were something like 10 stages going on simultaneously. We played on day 2 and it went well. We'd spent the 3 previous days and nights writing the one long song that for some reason seemed to be a good idea at the time. It did mean however that i'd work on the track until falling asleep, then Junko would take over...then she would sleep..and i would carry on. We seemed to pull it off, though!

Highlights of the festival were a manic gig from Obenij Program (the only band i know who wear their own T shirts!), a resigned and bittersweet Morrisey and dancing to drum and bass through one of the nights. We would get home around 7am, sleep a few hours and then hang out on the banks of the Danube.

Harakiri sisters kiss the feet of the people who made this possible for us: Boban, Biljana, Tamara, Maia, Papun, Mamun.

Harakiri sisters suck the toes of our new friends: Marko, Nina, Pedja, Zexon, Chomi's giant brother and so many others..all with wierd names that we'll never remember!

Played a solo gig in Bitterzoet, Amsterdam. Feedback explorations with guest appearances from 2 kabuki statues...(you had to have been there to understand!!). It was filmed, so it would be great to post a clip wouldn't it? (gulp!!)

JUNE 06

The solo project is moving forwards...The French label Solitude records will be releasing the CD which will be titled “An Evening With...” I’m still developing the 3 simultaneous guitar thing. There’s been a gig in OCCI which utilized the services of 2 passing Japanese tourists. I’ll post some photos if the people who took them feel like sending them on.

Harakiri sisters are busy writing material for the forthcoming album. We seem to drift together every few weeks and work for a couple of days, then go off and play with other groups. A self imposed deadline was necessary! We plan to have the album finished by this autumn. We played a couple of gigs in Amsterdam: Club Tokyo, Winston Kingdom and Subacultcha, Bitterzoet.

Played guitar on some tracks for Jina Sumedi’s latest movie soundtrack. She said it was almost like a soft porn movie. One day i’ll graduate up to playing wah wah for hardcore porn!

Plastered are back from a 15-Date tour of Belgium, France and Spain... here's a little something for the organizers and fans:

Just a short note from Plastered to thank everyone who helped us out for the 2005 France, Spain, Belgium tour. We didn't meet a single asshole!!! How can this be?! We fell in love with all the Girls who looked after us and after two weeks on the road the Guys were also starting to look interesting!

For us the best gig was in Orleans... there is no explanation for the 'best gig' phenomenon... These things are unpredictable. But to play after Eat Shit Experience (from Bayonne) was certainly a pleasure.

Prize for the most interesting venue must go to "La ferme Lambarre" outside St. Palais. We played during their regular full moon party. The 30 minute drive from St Palais to Lambarre took us deep into Basque Country...and with our mysterious host Lutxo leading the way, we were convinced that we had got into a "Blair witch / Texas chainsaw massacre" situation!

Raxinasky were of course amazing every night they played and we made good friends with the Dark Lord and his wolf-like Companion.

Best stage was in Tubize: we performed in a barn with candles for light, surrounded by manikins and an invisible public!

Special Thanks to the people who kindly looked after us on our days off:
Bordeaux Marian, Marian and Steph
Montpelier Pascal
Orleans Bastian, Cecile,Klair
The ghost of Herbert that kept on appearing at various towns along the way and Nastaya who was one of the masterminds behind the whole scheme.

Plastered are currently working on a new album, hopefully to be released before the end of 2006.

Junko from Harakiri Sisters is on a working holiday in Japan, visiting her sister who is due to give birth, and planning to prepare a Japanese tour for the band. We have 5 or 6 songs ready for the album and 10 million ideas about how to produce them!

Saturday 21st January 2006 was the debut for a Solo Live Performance I had been busy working on. It took place at 301, Amsterdam and involved playing 3 guitars
simultaneously and took the listener from slow doom through to psycho noise in 30 minutes or so. It went really well (check out the mp3 excerpt in the Downloads section). I'm in the process of booking a tour of France and Spain (so far there's interest from Orleans, Barcelona, Zaragoza, and Madrid), scheduled for late spring.

The Solo record is ready for pressing and right now I'm fishing around for distribution...
